Description: Antelope Valley Conservancy is a nonprofit local land trust that provides services to implement land conservation in the southern Mojave Desert and mitigation land banks in the Lancaster and Palmdale area of California.
The Antelope Valley region is surrounded by the Angeles National Forest and Sierra Nevadas. At the convergence of montane and marine formations, the western Mojave Desert offers a variety of unique desert habitats as well as transition habitat ecotones. The region has a great opportunity -- and responsibiltiy -- to fulfilll regional planning goals of sustainable ecosystem function, watershed function, and connectivity for biodiversity. Antelope Valley Conservancy is fulfilling this great opportunity by creating preserves of functioning habitat and watershed resources.
