Description: Established in 1967 to promote the science of palynology. Publishes the journal Palynology (annually), the AASP Newsletter (quarterly), and the AASP Contributions Series (mostly monographs, issued irregularly), as well as several books and miscellaneous items. AASP also organises an Annual Meeting which usually includes a field trip, a business luncheon, social events, and technical sessions where research results are presented on all aspects of palynology.

This dinoflagellate cyst species is endemic to the Black Sea and the Mediterranean region in general.
