Description: A marine science and environmental education organization operated by a consortium of schools and colleges in New England. Provides boats, oceanographic equipment, a waterfront laboratory, and instructional materials to enable students and adults to learn about the marine environment through first-hand on-the-water experiences.
Project Oceanology's waterfront location is adjacent to a diverse variety of marine habitats and offers hands-on learning opportunities for any age. Our school programs for students in grades 4 through 12, scout programs and summer enrichment overnight and day camps feature an inquiry oriented approach to science. The lighthouse expeditions, oceanographic research cruises and seal watches are unique educational outings for families. We are located at the University of Connecticut's Avery Point Campus in Groton, Connecticut.
