BCGS - Black Country Geological Society - Home Page 2010 Welcome to the BCGS website. The Black Country Geological Society is based in Dudley, West Midlands, England. The society was formed in 1975 and has, since then, maintained a strong active membership. Our members come from all backgrounds and include interested amateurs, professional geologists, teachers, and students of all ages. We hold regular meetings to listen to invited lecturers, in addition to field trips to sites of geologic interest.
