Description:Historical records of Aplodontia rufa nigra are scarce. It's reported that colonies extend from Point Arena to Alder Creek, 7.5 miles to the north. This range was extended north another 4.5 miles when animals were collected at Christianson Ranch in 1951 by Pfeilfer.
