Plants of Viñales: a pictorial guide - Gouania lupuloides Climber, up to 10 m, minor branches more or less hairless; leaves membranous, ovate to elliptic, pointed to acuminate at apex, rounded to almost heart-shaped at base, 4-10 cm long, 2-6 cm wide, crenate serrate, commonly hairless on upperside, small hairs on veins on underside; racemes 5-20 cm, usually in large terminal panicles; flowers small, white, pedicels up to 3 mm, pubescent, calyx pubescent, 1-1.5 mm, petals ovate, pointed; fruit 8-12 mm wide, more or less hairless, wings commonly wider than long.
