EDGE :: Mammal Species Information Belonging to the same family as hedgehogs and gymnures, the Dinagat moonrat has stiff bristly or spiny fur on its back, which is generally golden brown with black speckling. Little is known about the ecology of the species. It occurs in both primary and secondary dipterocarp forests, but may be at risk from logging, slash-and-burn agriculture and mining.
