Description: photo
Invasive and Introduced Species First described in 1981, this fragrant mint is known from only two locations, both on the Altamaha River sandridge. It is an annual mint, but has a strong smell of cinnamon when crushed. Its striking pink flowers are nearly 5 cm long. Numbers of individuals vary greatly from year to year as seed production, germination, and seedling mortality vary. Loss of these two populations would result in extinction in the wild.
