Ammirati, Halling & Garnica Photograph by R. E. Halling, © 2004 We have encountered this agaric many times in the Talamancas. It is distinguished by the pale ochre colors, subdistant broad gills, white stipe, and finely squamulose pileus. Under 360 nm UV light, it has a bright yellow pigment, hence the name.
