Description: Photographs and natural history of the members of the family, Hemerobiidae.
HPIPM:Hemerobiidae - Bugwoodwiki Photo by Joseph Berger, , Bugwood.org Compiled by Whitney Cranshaw, Colorado State University: The brown lacewings are related to the green lacewings with generally similar habits, being predators of insects in both their adult and larval stages. Many are more specialized predators, feeding primarily on woolly aphids and mealybugs. Brown lacewings also are almost always associated with dense vegetation, including trees and shrubs.
