Colorado Springs, Colorado 80934 "Keeping Teller County In The Dark." The Las Brisas Observatory (LBO) is located in a dark protected area of the old spanish Las Brisas Ranch (Las Brisas means "The Breezes"). It is 11 miles west of Pikes Peak, Colorado, at an elevation of 8500 feet. The dark skies and high elevation gives us some of the most spectacular views of the heavens, however, the encroaching city lights and yard lights continue to degrade the view we have of our universe.
