Alberta Organic Producers Association Alberta Organic Producers Association The Alberta Organic Producers Association (AOPA) was initially formed in 1990 as OCIA Alberta Chapter # 1, with 26 members. In 2000 the membership had grown to 147 inspected organic producers and processors with approximately 40 associate/supporting members. In 2003 a restructuring took place and the Alberta Organic Producers Association (AOPA) was formed. The certifying body for AOPA is the "Organic Crop Improvement Association International (OCIA) Inc". Membership is open to anyone interested in the production, processing, marketing and consumption of organic products.
