African Centre for Technology Studies (ACTS) | Harnessing Science and Technology for Sustainable Development Inception workshop on: “Gasifier Cookstoves Dissemination in Kenya African Centre for Technology Studies (ACTS) in partnership with SNV-Kenya, SCODE and The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) is organizing for an inception cum brainstorming workshop intended to develop a strategy towards dissemination of gasifier cookstoves in Kenya. Gasifier cookstoves are energy efficient stoves that use both natural and forced draft mechanism for complete fuel combustion producing an output flame of about 8000c .This know-how is one of the most efficient biomass combustion technologies that necessitate clean and affordable cooking mechanism. However, the technology absorption rate is very low in developing countries with limited awareness and lack of suitable delivery models cited as main constrain to its adoption. The objective of this workshop is to share information about gasifier stoves and develop a strategy to be used in dissemination of 2500 gasifier cookstoves within two years. The workshop is scheduled to take place in Nakuru.
