Southern Forest Heritage Museum - Home Southern Forest Heritage Museum The following report was part of a program that has been developed by the Forest Service to provide urban communities the value of trees to the environment. It is being widely used across both the United States and internationally to provide information to justify city planning, urban forestry programs, and tree maintenance efforts. A cooperative effort among the LDAF Urban Forestry Program, U.S. Forest Service, and the Museum resulted in plot measurements in the Museum’s forested area and a report of its environmental value.  We were thrilled to be a part of this study and are evaluating the possibilities of taking it even further.
