History of John and Milly Harris Welcome to The William Harris Homestead Step back into the 19th Century for a day... The Charles M. Walker Foundation generously awarded $3625.00 to the William Harris Homestead for Heritage Education for 2013. We are so very thankful for their continued support. The Colonial Dames of America, Piedmont Chapter XXXIII have also generously supported the Homestead with a $2,000 donation for a historical marker at the entrance of the WHH. The members of the chapter are supporting the William Harris Homestead in 2014 with a permanent, descriptive aluminum sign to be placed near the entrance to the log house.  They are committed to helping with sign projects for the next few years. We are so very appreciative of their loyalty and dedication to the future of the Homestead.
