| Description: | If you must teach vocabulary to any level student we have a book to help you. We have a book on morphemes and morphology (word parts - prefixes, suffixes, and roots), but most of our books help build basic vocabulary, those domain-specific words. They fill in the vocabulary gap experienced by many of our students. They need these words to be able to comprehend complex texts, meet common core state standards (CCSS) and be successful on the PARCC assessment. Children will be expected to make logical inferences, support conclusions drawn, interpret words and phrases, determine the meaning of unknown and multiple meaning words - all of which leads to comprehending increasingly more complex texts INDEPENDENTLY. They also need the words to be able to: summarize key details and ideas, write arguments with sufficient evidence, write informative texts clearly and accurately, write narratives using well-chosen details, convey their ideas with precision. Our books address the College and Career Readiness Anchor Standards and the Common Core State Standards. |
