Description: FS-MRL is an interdisciplinary research laboratory focused on fundamental issues in materials science. The primary goals of the programs are to develop fundamental research programs in the areas of materials science, condensed matter physics, and materials chemistry, to educate scientists and engineers at the PhD and Post-doctoral levels with skills in those areas, and to transfer science and technology developed to other DOE National Laboratories and to US industry via research collaborations, mutually supportive interactions, and continuing education.
Materials Research Laboratory at Illinois Researchers have long thought that biological molecules and synthetic nanocrystals were similar only in size. This is the highest honor bestowed by the United States Government on science and engineering professionals.
