Platt Colorado | Where "Setting the Standard in Nursing Education" begins here. On February 28, nursing students from Platt College in Aurora, CO, along with faculty member, Seth Thomas, volunteered at Habitat for Humanity, a national nonprofit organization that brings people together to build homes and communities for families with limited incomes. Students met on a cold, windy Friday morning at a new housing site off Chambers Road in Aurora, hoping to provide the organization with help in their mission. After providing safety equipment and a brief lecture on overall safety, staff at Habitat for Humanity assigned Platt nursing students various jobs for the day , which included everything from sweeping and mopping to nailing siding on the façade of several houses. Students and faculty worked together and side-by-side with members volunteering from the local community.  Despite the inclement weather, students and faculty had a great time getting to know one another and learning about new home construction. Platt College students expressed that they were proud to be part of a team that helped a deserving family, and they hoped that they could return at a later date to work more with the charity.
