PEABODY PARK is a wooded, grassy, and stream-dissected tract of land at the north end of the . Originally 125 acres in extent, the Park has been to thirty-four acres by University expansion. The portion of it that remains, however, is a vital refuge for a wide variety animals and plants characteristic of the Piedmont region of the eastern United States, as well as a pleasant retreat from the daily business of the campus.
