Description: A description a bicycle tour through the southern of China. We also visited Xi'an and Beijing. Includes route description, photos and useful tips.
In August 1997 we went to China for a bicycle trip. During four weeks we cycled through the South of China. After this we spent another two weeks travelling through China to visit Xi'an and Beijing. Cycling through China is a wonderful experience that allows you to visit villages which foreigners hardly -if ever- visit and meet the local people who are generally very enthusiastic and helpful. Cycling as a European foreigner through their country makes you into someone worth inspecting and in most instances turns immediately a smile on their faces.
