Welcome to Hiking in the Vancouver area Most Vancouver winters are six months of rain . There is a long standing joke , "What do you call two days of rain ? " The weekend ! I like to spend the month of June on the beach soaking up some much needed sun . By the end of July most of the snow on the peaks has melted ,and the sound of the " Rats with Wings " ( seagulls ) are driving me crazy Yes it's time to hit the hills and back country . Vancouver has some of the best hiking in Canada . All of it is within easy reach of the city . Here you'll find some of my favourites . I have also posted some links , pics , tips, a few maps , and some useful forms.
