Our presentation was from our own Bruce Zerr about Signatures in Buffalo Cave. It was a very interesting program that contained a trip report from over 100 years ago! Jim Whidby talked about Cherokee Caverns to set to rest of the talk about what is happening over there and why it was offered to the grotto. There is NO SCCI interest in Cherokee Caverns. There has never been any interest. Jim also added that this is not the type of cave that the organization looks for purchasing. He says that the cave has always been open to the grotto. Everyone has always been welcome to have birthdays, weddings, and grotto functions there. He wants everyone one to know that this is still the case. The cave was offered to the grotto as a regular meeting place because the Whidby family was trying to help out the grotto. It was announced that due to all the "drama" that unfolded it is preferred that the cave no be a regular meeting place. Meetings can be help there when needed or wanted, but not permanently. Thanks, Jim, for the information about the cave and letting us know we are welcome.
