Description:The most famous usage of the NL 1937 Jamboree stamps is on mail carried by the zeppelin Hindenburg. On landing at Lakehurst on 6 May, 1937, the airship burst into flames and was destroyed in about 34 seconds. Of the 17,609 pieces of mail on board, only 357 pieces were salvaged in a burned condition. 26 of these carry Scout stamps.
