Description: Relates past voyages of the 40 foot cutter, such as trans-Atlantic crossings, Caribbean, and Lake Superior cruises. Includes logs and image galleries.
Check out the new Photo Archives           Stormy Duchess is a 40 foot cutter, which (for the uninitiated) means it has one main sail and two jibs (a Yankee and a Staysail).  Manufactured by Baba in 1980, she's a beamy gal with canoe-stern and a 65 horse Volvo diesel engine.  She is a rear cockpit, wheel steering, roller jibed Yankee & Staysail sailing machine.  The V-berth is large enough for two, one after berth a starboard and a port berth.  She has the essentials: a water closet complete with shower; 12 volt refrigerator; propane oven; and hot and cold running water.  Wayne has three (count them) three GPS systems, radar, marine band radio, a dingy with beacon, and he just acquired a satellite phone.
