Peconic Bay Power Squadron - Safe Boating Through Education Peconic Bay Power Squadron, a unit of the United States Power Squadrons, is dedicated to safe boating through education. We serve eastern Suffolk County on the east end of Long Island, New York which includes the North Fork, part of the South Fork and the Hamptons, including the towns of Aquebogue, Baiting Hollow, Calverton, East Marion, East Moriches, Eastport, Flanders, Greenport, Hampton Bays, Jamesport, Lake Panamoka, Laurel, Manorville, Mattituck, New Suffolk, Northampton, Orient, Orient Point, Panamoka, Peconic, Quogue, Remsenburg, Ridge, Riverhead, Shelter Island, Shoreham, South Jamesport, Southampton, Southold, Speonk, Upton, Wading River, Westhampton, Westhampton Beach, Westhampton Dunes, and Wildwood. We offer public safe boating courses, basic boating classes, America's Boating Course, Boat Smart, Chart Smart, NY State Young Boaters Course, NY Safe Boating Course, Jet Ski Certification, and others that are all New York State and NASBLA approved with certified instructors. We also have advanced boating classes like Seamanship, Piloting, Advanced Piloting, Junior Navigation, Navigation, Cruise Planning, Engine Maintenance, Marine Electronics, Sail, and Weather. Our USPS University program offers boating seminars like, Advanced Powerboat Handling, Anchoring, Basic Coastal Navigation, Boat Handling under Power, How to Use a Chart, Hurricanes and Boats, Knots Bends and Hitches, Marine RADAR, Mariner's Compass, Mastering the Rules of the Road, Onboard Weather Forecasting, Paddle Smart, Partner in Command, Sail Trim and Rig Tuning, Trailering Your Boat, Using GPS, and Using VHF & VHF/DSC Marine Radio, as well as on the water training programs and the Boat Operators Certification.
