Welcome to the Texas Ornithological Society Welcome to the Texas Ornithological Society Davis Mountains Weekend May 23-25, 2014, $75 This field trip is designed to take advantage of the open weekend at the Texas Nature Conservnacy’s Davis Mountains Preserve. Target species will be Montezuma Quail, Common Black-Hawk, Zone-tailed Hawk, Band-tailed Pigeon, Mexican Whip-poor-will, Broad-tailed Hummingbird, Acorn Woodpecker, Western Wood-Pewee, Gray Flycatcher, Dusky Flycatcher, Buff-breasted Flycatcher, Cassin’s Kingbird, Steller’s Jay, Mountain Chickadee, Pygmy Nuthatch, Painopepla, Hepatic Tanager, Western Tanager, and Scott’s Oriole.
