The Lancaster Area Soaring Society was formed in 1972 and is a friendly group of over 30 radio control enthusiasts that fly a wide variety of silent, radio controlled aircraft from our fields in Lancaster, PA. and, from what some consider, the best East Coast slope site located on the Susquehanna River in Columbia, PA. We have members that fly Hand Launch, 2-meter, Standard, Open, Scale, Slope, and international competition sailplane classes in many different skill levels from beginner to expert. Gliders and electric powered aircraft are the only types of R/C aircraft allowed on all LASS fields. For more info see the
