Welcome to the South Texas Unit's web site. The Herb Society of America, Inc. is a non-profit, service and educational organization founded in 1968.  The national organization was founded in 1933 and has "units" and "members at large" throughout the United States and Canada.  The Herb Society of America is dedicated to promoting the knowledge, use and delight of herbs through educational programs, research and sharing the experience of its members with the community. The motto of The Herb Society of America, "For Use and For Delight," is taken from the herbalist John Parkinson.
