Fire Districts Association of California Arcada and Humboldt Fire Districts to Share Chief The Arcata Fire Protection District will share a chief with Humboldt Bay Fire, officials said on Friday. Humboldt Bay Fire Chief Ken Woods will take over the helm of the Arcata Fire Protection District effective July 1. "It's exciting," Woods said. "It's an opportunity that I'm grateful for. My main focus is we need to work together in the fire service, and if the economy continues to have trouble, the more we can do to support each other and work together, it's going to be a benefit for all of us. I'm really looking forward to being able to do more with both organizations."
