Iowa Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Welcome to the Iowa Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics Website. It's a great time to be a Registered Dietitian since there are many exciting changes happening in the healthcare field today. Our biggest task as nutrition experts is to clearly communicate to our colleagues how we can create healthier communities in a cost effective patient centered manner. Nutrition is critical for health and is related to our most prevalent, deadly, and costly diseases including heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, certain cancers, and obesity. Food allergies and intolerances are also of high importance and require our careful translation of nutrition science into sound eating plans.
