"The opportunity to move to the Lovella building has been a true blessing for me! I like Red Deer and wanted to have the independence of my own apartment. Before moving to Lovella I lived with my parents, in a smaller community with less resources and services. I have had no emergency visits to the hospital in the time I have lived at Lovella and I feel I am well on my way within my recovery. Living in an environment that understands has helped me to have continued stability. The drop-in center has proven to be an important place to me, allowing me to meet and connect with people living with the same life challenges. I have seen many positive changes while living at Lovella and made many new friends in which I hold dear. Living at the Lovella has given me a second chance to start over my life; people need a place to call home throughout the cycles of recovery from mental illness. Lovella has helped me to achieve independence though a supportive environment, new friends and connections, and has helped me to be happy with life.
