Hopefully, a better understanding of chronic pain management will provide a basis for more favorable consideration, so instead of continuing to depend on costly "fixes" supported by the medical model to provide a "cure", chronic pain sufferers will be referred to psychologists trained in pain management and/or to proven behavior modification programs.
