When One Door Closes Another Opens but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us I had a normal, healthy childhood. Then in September of 1986, I turned 15 years old. My symptoms came on rather suddenly- I was nauseous and vomiting violently, extremely dizzy, unsteady gait, blurred vision, and sweating profusely. I was immediately admitted to my local hospital for a week where they ran tests but couldn't figure out what was wrong. The local doctor decided it was psychological and discharged me feeling worse than I did on the way in.
