Description: Clinic treating feline hyperthyroidism. Explanation of the treatment and contact information. Orland Park.
Veterinary Nuclear Medicine-Treatment Of Feline Hyperthyroidism Dr. Raymond J. Morandi obtained his B.S. from Bradley University in Peoria Illinois. He then continued his degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University. Dr Morandi established the Orland Park Equine Hospital in 1969 and was licensed for radiation therapy in animals in 1975. In 1994 it became evident to him, as in humans, that Iodine 131 was a beneficial treatment for hyperthyroidism in cats. He then established the first private institution in the State of Illinois to begin treating cats for hyperthyroidism with Iodine 131. This procedure has become the treatment of choice for hyperthyroidism, and many cats have lived longer, healthier lives as a result.
