Description: A virtual airline based at Lake Hood Anchorage, the largest and busiest float plane base in the world.
This tour follows the world famous Alaska (Alcan) Hwy from its beginning in Dawson Creek, BC to its terminus in Delta Junction, AK. The tour continues north through Fairbanks to the beginning of the Dalton Hwy which follows the Alyeska Pipeline to Deadhorse at Prudhoe Bay. The Alaska Hwy was built by the US Army from March 1942 to November 1942 as a supply route to aid the war effort against the Japanese forces which had invaded several Aleutian islands.
