PII200mhz, 16MB Ram, 4x CD-Rom, 320MB HD, Windows 95/98 with DirectX 6.0+ K6-3 450, 128MB Ram, Riva128ZX 8MB, DirectX7.0, Windows 98 gaming has taken a big leap since Ultima Online was produced, and an even bigger one since EverQuest hit the shelves and people began playing like mad. The big draws of the games are of course the ability to play with other people, but beyond that there are many different ideas of how to construct the gaming world. While EverQuest is very close to Dungeons and Dragons-style play with its many familiar character races like orcs, humans, barbarians and so on, the newcomer is simpler in some respects and more complicated in others. Asheron's call boasts the most robust and detailed character creation of any online game as well as extremely large-scale online events like a winter snowfall that has blanketed its the "world" of Dereth and a meteor shower that destroyed the beta worlds.
