Graphics: Perfect Blue Buildings In a word, Alida's visuals are lovely. Before installing the game, I expected to be superbly under whelmed. I awaited grainy textures, lame video clips and a general poison to my visual senses. However, it is quite evident that the man behind Alida, Cos Russo, is an excellent artist. The game's textures are wonderfully detailed, from ornate wallpaper to shiny metal on scaffolds. I never got lost while traversing the island because poor texturing made darkened doorways and cave entrances indistinguishable. Alida also features very cool animation effects and video clips. There are plenty of "roller coaster" rides to transport players from one part of Alida to another. I SO dig those. There are also nice touches like rippling water and swaying tree leafs. Alida's few characters are even well acted and nicely digitized.
