Description: An extended version of TeX that can create PDF directly from TeX source files and enhance the result of TeX typesetting with the help of PDF. When PDF output is not selected, pdfTeX produces normal DVI output.
The latest stable version of pdfTeX is Those not wanting to upgrade pdfTeX alone are strongly advised to get a version of their TeX distribution which has it, e.g. of epstopdf (Sebastian Rahtz).
