VECTORLINUX was created to give the Linux community a nice base system to build or homebrew there own Linux system based on each individuals needs and wants in an operating system. I decided to undertake this after many installs of our favorite major distro's offerings and ending up with a least 500 megabytes worth of software most of which I rarely needed. So I decided to build a system from scratch that included all the basic functionality that one would need in an operating system. The unique thing about VECTORLINUX is that thru the use of a program called midnight commander it is possible to install any package that is available from the major distributions i.e. Redhat, Debian, Slackware, Stampede, and all of the Redhat clones out there. The only restriction is that the packages have to be based on glibc6 2.0 or above. Package dependencies are up to the user to find an install. Well, thats about all..... so install it, play with it, and most of all have fun with it
