Virus safety - good
Description: An IBM sponsored site at Marist College, provides precompiled kernel and disk images, installation instructions, and a QuickStart guide. A good place to got when you are ready to install Linux/390.
The penguins have turned the S/390 into a screaming, take-no-prisoners Linux machine. Compiled binaries are available that contain everything to install a complete GNU/Linux OS. Mainframe hard- and software supports multiple ways of running an OS. A Linux for S/390 will run either on native hardware, e.g. LPAR (logical partition), or as a VM guest (virtual machine).
