Description: A project that documents and preserves historical information about this microprocessor. Offers schematics, a simulator written in Java and information about derived devices under a semi-free Creative Commons license.
Intel 4004 — 35th Anniversary Project Team recreates "source code" and releases cool Busicom 141-PF calculator simulator Chronicled here are our efforts to create an interactive exhibit celebrating the Intel 4004, the world's first commercial off-the-shelf microprocessor that customers could program themselves. The complete, interactive exhibit was on display at the Intel Museum in Santa Clara, California through 2011. In 2012, the museum was remodeled, and the back-lit "big chip" (shown on the left in the museum photo below, and in the "fly over" photo) was incorporated into a new exhibit. Since 2006 we have continued to document and preserve the history of this ground-breaking microprocessor and the products it made possible.
