Umphrey acquired the roller covering capabilities of Dayco Corporation's roller division in Three Rivers, Michigan. For close to 30 years Mr. Umphrey presided over Republic's rise to one of America's top roller manufacturers with the assistance of a dedicated and experienced work staff. Upon his passing in late 2010, his confidence in his staff was revealed as the process was started per his instructions to create an employee owned company.
