Description: UK. Former livery company of London turned registered charity involved in supporting the London College of Fashion's degree courses in leathercraft, design and technology, the Leather Conservation Centre in Northampton, and Capel Manor College, Enfield, which runs courses in saddlery and bridlery.
Welcome to the website of the Worshipful Company of Curriers, one of the 109 Livery Companies of the City of London. The ‘Art & Mystery‘ of the Currier is as old as history. The craft is described in Homer and the first recorded mention of currying in England dates from 1276. The Livery Companies of the City of London started as Craft Guilds, originally for social, welfare and religious purposes with their members. However, this role soon expanded to include training, standards, practices, qualifications and promotion of their trades.
