Carries On in the Tyco Agressive Expansion and Tax Avoidance Transition Whatever one can say about Dennis Koslowski's lavish life style, tax avoidance, and possible mismanagement of Tyco International's assets, the fact remains that under his CEO reign aggressive acquisition policy, Tyco International's revenues increased tenfold in the 1990's. Eventually Koslowski went to federal prison, and Tyco collapsed in the "tech wreck" of the early 2000's. Disassociating themselves were several spinoffs, including what is now called "TE Connectivity, Ltd.", (TEL), a company based in Switzerland but run from the U.S. in yet another tax avoidance situation. TE Connectivity shares the over-compensation ills, carrying on in the Koslowski tradition, that beleaguers many if not most large American corporations. But the management appears good, and the company has many strengths and a solid manufacturing base of electro-mechanical parts used by variousr OEM's. It appears to be a "buy and hold" stock worth considering, and although based overseas, meets all U.S. SEC reporting requirements, unlike some Grand Cayman Island companies such as Tyco used to be.
