To accomplish that, Wyoming has a state implementation plan for regional haze. To date, Wyoming’s total reduction of NOx tons brought about through its state implementation plan is among the highest in the nation. Despite that, a federal agency has said that it wants to set aside the state’s regional haze program in order to implement a federal program. But when it comes to a federal takeover of the state’s visibility decisions, the benefits are hazy and the huge costs are crystal clear.

| Description: | On December 29, 1936, a group of rural people met to organize Wheatland Rural Electric Association. They were determined to obtain for themselves and their neighbors the same standard of living enjoyed by the folks in town. On April 8, 1937 a contract for power was signed with the town of Wheatland, Wyoming. They built the necessary lines and on Christmas Eve 1937, seventy-five families experienced the miracle of electricity. |
