Stone Planters, Fountains and Garden Accents from Big Bend Stone Planters, Fountains, Benches & Garden Accents can handle loads up to 900 lbs. These stone planters are from Chihuahua, Mexico, where they are known as "tinajas" (pronounced tee-nah-hahs). They are individually crafted by four families from the Frontera Region. Native rock is quarried from volcanic tuff outcrops and brought back to their small ranchitos, where it is carved by hand. Harvested by these primitive methods, each stone becomes a tinaja with its own unique shape and character. Naturally porous, they make beautiful, functional planters.
