The Cedar Recycling Plant is a FREE service offered to everybody that trims a cedar hedge. A nicely trimmed cedar hedge offers a picturesque alternative to standard fencing or other methods of defining property edges and boundaries. The problem with cedar hedges is that they are alive and continually growing. Most are kept in check by yearly pruning. However then you are stuck with a bundle of cedar leaves and boughs . The trimmings do not compost well, which is a big problem for public and private composting programs. Fresh green cedar is also not good for mulch due to the chemical makeup of cedar trees.
