Fox Maple School of Traditional Building, Joiners Quarterly & Timber Framing 2013 Marks Fox Maple's 30th Anniversary teaching timber framing and natural building systems. Over this time we have conducted hundreds of workshops from Spain to Hawaii, and Canada to Patagoina, and many places in between. Over this time many hundreds of students have taken part in some truly remarkable workshop projects in some pretty remarkable places. This past August we returned to Europe to conduct a workshop in Brittany, France. The project was a cruck frame, with two full cruck bents and one king post made up of one cruck blade. We could only get 5 cruck blades from the crooked oak logs we had, so we improvised. As usual, a wonderful group took part and a beautiful frame resulted, which is, after all, the most remarkable aspect of these workshops.
