Starr Studios was founded in San Francisco’s Mission District in 2005 by artist, designer and author Sean Starr: a 2nd generation custom painter birthed from the late 70s and early 80s Kustom Kulture movement. Sean began his journey into sign painting and design with his father’s company Starr Custom Paint in the mid 1980s in South Texas, custom painting and pinstriping thousands of hot rods, trucks and custom vehicles. Sean’s original works have been exhibited across the United States, and he has published several books, including “You, Me and Morrissey†which was made an Official Entrant for the 2008 Pulitzer Prize in Letters. His wife, Kayleigh, operates the studio alongside him.
