After being diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer at the age of 56, Isadore immediately started treatments and remained progression-free for almost 10 years. In 2007, when a friend was also diagnosed with prostate cancer, they started a local prostate cancer survivor’s support group called The Empowerment Network. In 2011, Isadore’s cancer progressed and his physician recommended PROVENGE (sipuleucel-T). Isadore liked the idea of using the body’s own immune system to fight cancer. He was infused in 2011 and continues to run The Empowerment Network, which now has over 200 members. His children and grandchildren keep him grounded, and his passion to help educate and support other men with this disease keeps him motivated for the future.
